If you want to get the best prices from tire dealers, the first thing you should decide on is which brand you want. Tire dealers that carry specific brands can give you a better price on the brands they stock because they buy directly from the factory. If you want a brand that a dealer doesn’t stock, he buys it from a wholesaler and marks the price up in order to make the sale worth his while.
Here are some other factors to bear in mind:
- Be courteous: It’s a known fact that salespeople, and tire dealers are no different, often base discounts on customer attitude. Politeness can count for a lot when you’re after a good deal!
- Get quotes from other tire dealers before visiting a store: If you have decided on the brand and type of tire you want, obtaining quotes from multiple stores could help you find the best price.
