Don’t Let Car Repairs Slow You Down

Car repairs can really slow you down if they come up when you least expect it. No one wants to be forced to stop at the nearest car repair shop for maintenance or have to pay for an expensive part to fix something simple. At Country Town Tire & Auto Service Center, we suggest several things to help keep your car running before car repairs become inevitable.

Regular Car Maintenance

Regular car maintenance can really help cut down on car repair costs, and we have some suggestions for maintenance that will keep your vehicle running:

•   Change your fluids on time, every time.

•   Change your oil every time you drive 3,000 to 5,000 miles.

•   Every 30,000 miles, change your antifreeze, brake fluid, and transmission fluid.

•   Schedule maintenance checks every 15,000, 30,000, 60,000, and 90,000 miles.

•   Replace your air filter every time 12 months passes.

•   Have the fuel filter in your car replaced every time you drive 24,000 miles or every other year

Tire Maintenance and Care

It’s also a good idea to take good care of your tires by doing the following:

•   Get your tires rotated every six months or every time you drive 5,000 miles.

•   Check the pressure level in your tires on a weekly basis. Low tire pressure impacts your car’s handling, fuel economy, and comfort.

•   Make sure your tires are aligned properly since poor alignment can cause your car to drag on the road when you drive.

•   Keep your spare tire properly inflated by checking it once every month.

•   Check your tire tread to make sure it isn’t too low. Your tires need to be replaced when the tread gets down to 1/16 of an inch.
