Advantages of Going to Experienced Tire Dealers

Looking at having your tires replaced or rotated or having the wheels aligned? It's important to know that you are going to a shop with experienced tire dealers, in fact, much more important than people realize. There's a lot to consider on the topic of tires, one of the most vulnerable and maintenance-demanding parts of the car.

An experienced tire dealer will know exactly how to match your vehicle to the type of tire needed based on the model and the type of driving you will be doing. Any tire will not go with just any vehicle make and model, and you have to be on the lookout for some tire dealers who will try to sell you a tire just to make a sale.  The same goes for the type of driving you will be doing. Are you mostly in the city, doing frequent stop-and-go driving, or are you more often on the highway, commuting or otherwise? Maybe you have a four-wheel drive and like to go off-road on the weekends. Make sure you tell your tire dealer what your needs are; a good one will go ahead and ask anyway.

The tire dealer will also know about the need for rotations and wheel alignments. Make sure you know the proper maintenance for your vehicle and tires, and if you don't, ask the dealer. Tire rotations extend the life of your tires because the front and rear tires become worn in different ways as you drive. Wheel alignments are important for similar reasons. However, it's important to have an experienced tire dealer who can tell you how your tires should be rotated; depending on the tread patterns and sizes, the tires may not be entirely interchangeable.
