Most people give you a blank look when you ask that question, when in reality even the owner’s manual usually recommends that it be done at least once per year. There are a number of benefits of having a cooling system flush.

First of all, it will remove rust and scale deposits that have built up in the radiator. Since these buildups can lead to overheating or even cause damage to your radiator, it is necessary to have them removed regularly.

The coolant in the radiator also performs other duties. The additives in it work to keep the water pump lubricated, which will help it to last longer.
