Going on a road trip is supposed to be a fun and exciting adventure! However, if you have a flat tire, blown out tire or other safety issue along the way, your road trip could be exciting in the worst ways. Here at Country Town Tire & Auto Service Center, we want to help ensure that your tires are ready to take you on the road! Here are a few ways that you can determine if your tires are ready for your road trip.

• Tire Pressure is Important. Ensuring that your tires have enough pressure is important before you start out. Remember riding your bike and feeling the strain of trying to keep a bike up with a flat tire moving? This is how your engine feels when it’s driving on tires with low pressure!
• Check the Tread. Balding tires are a serious safety hazard since they don’t provide you with the grip that you need to keep you on the road and stop when you need to! If your tires don’t have enough tread on them, go ahead and replace them before you go. You’ll be glad you did!  
• Perform a Visual Inspection. Take a few moments to inspect the tires for more than just tread. Are there balding spots that are wearing faster than the rest of the tires? Do you see any bulges or areas of the rubber that are starting to split or crack? These can be problematic when driving long distances and should be checked by qualified professionals like ours.
